This is a small stoneware moon jar, with black velvet underglaze, lichen glaze and a subtle gold cross pattern. The lichen glaze, quasi-volcanic texture contrasts with the smooth precious metal. It was thrown on the wheel and decorated by me at Brougham Hall, Penrith
